Privacy policy
Last updated 23 September 2026
This policy explains what personal data Deckle Packaging collects through decklepackaging.com, why, who we share it with and the rights you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Who we are
Deckle Packaging is the controller of your personal data. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@decklepackaging.com.
What we collect
- Quote and contact requests. Your name, email, and optionally phone number, company, box details, artwork files and notes. We use them to prepare your quote and reply to you.
- Your approximate country. Worked out from your connection so we can show prices, currency and lead times for your market (for example “UK”).
- Technical data. Your IP address and browser type, kept briefly in your session record and to stop spam on our forms. Both expire within hours.
- Anonymous usage statistics. Page views counted with Plausible Analytics, which uses no cookies and collects no personal data.
Why we use it (legal basis)
- To answer your request and quote your order: steps you asked us to take before entering a contract.
- To run, secure and improve the site: our legitimate interest in a working, safe website.
- To keep business and tax records if you order: our legal obligations.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or send marketing emails unless you ask for them.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that process data on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the website.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the servers that store quote requests and artwork.
- Resend, which sends our emails.
- Plausible Analytics, for cookie-free visitor statistics.
Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, those transfers are covered by safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or the UK equivalent.
Cookies
We only use cookies the site needs to work: a session cookie and a security token that protects our forms. They are deleted when they expire and are never used for tracking, so we don’t ask for consent to set them.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and chats for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, and for up to 24 months after our last contact with you. If you place an order, we keep the records that tax and accounting law requires, usually six to seven years.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the UK and EU GDPR, Canada’s PIPEDA, Australia’s Privacy Act and US state privacy laws), you can ask us to:
- tell you what data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct it or delete it;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- send it to you or another company in a portable format.
Email hello@decklepackaging.com and we will reply within one month. We will never treat you differently for using these rights. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority, such as the ICO in the UK.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
